Need Help Stocking Fish

I currently have all the below in my 30g tank.

1-Royal Gramma
1-Randal Goby
About 7 hermits
3-turbo snails
2-kenya tree coral frags
About 60 lbs of LR

I am lost as what other fish or two I should add. Depending on size i might add just one fish, maybe 2 if they are small enough.

I was planning on getting a
-6 line wrasse or a hawk fish
but ive read about agression or eating corals etc. .

I really like the spotted and falco hawkfish still but no sure if i should get one. Still like the 6 line wrasse but have heard that they are a PITA. lol

What other fish with interesting personalities and or colors should i look into?

Suggestions?

 

i would look at a jawfish, they have great personalitys!! plus they stay at the bottom. i also saw the other day, some orange anthias, they looked like orange sherbert, really pretty and bright as hel%. also i love this fairy wrasse,

Most anthias probably won't fit in that size tank. My sixline is currently the most timid beast in my tank. That even includes my yellow watchman goby. Very cool colors and will contrast with your other fish nicely. You could even get a perc. I love the idea of a jawfish though. Make sure your sandbed is deep enough though.

Thanks guys! Yeah i have a 4" DSB, so the jawfish would be a cool idea to consider.
Ive already ruled out any type of clownfish as they just seem too common and over done to me. Sorry, i should have mentioned that.

As far as the orange anthias goes, i like the looks of it but feel its too similar to some African Cichlids i have in my fresh tank.

The fairy wrasse looks pretty sweet and i would consider that one.
I would still consider the 6 line wrasse, and have always loved it i just started reading a bunch of threads on other forums about them eating polyps, zoo's, etc.. .

Also still really like the Falco Hawk even though it can eat the snails and crabs. I think my crabs and snails might be too big for it to eat?

I just dont know what to do. Im not in a rush at least.

 

I would also recommend a jawfish. He is by far my favorite fish in my tank. Make sure you got some rock rubble laying around in the sand bed to make his home. He is constantly rearranging his home and always fun to watch.

 

Now im a lil more interested in these jawfish. Is the Pearly Jawfish(yellow head) a good one to get? I can get one for a decent price here in town. I did read that they can jump out easily if startled on a open top tank which i kind of have. I have glass covering only half the top.

Even though i have a 4" dsb, my LR is on top of the sand and i read that if you keep this fish that the rock should be settled on the glass bottom with the sand back filled around it as not to cause a cave in. I really dont wanna redo my rock work.

 

i have a falcos hawk and i like him quite a bit, he has not been agressive to other fish but he has got a fair share of snails

 

Jawfish require alot of meaty feedings to survive. Also, if you have a 4" sandbed in order to run a deep sand bed, the jawfish will defeat that purpose.

Personally, I have never been able to keep jawfish long term. They either jump out of the tank or eventually starve to death. If you do consider keeping one, make sure that all of your rockwork is sitting on the bottom glass, not on the sand. If it's sitting on the sand, the fish will burrow underneath the rock and could cause you rockwork to tumble.

 

I got the Hawkfish guys. My fav LFS sold me the one he had in his display tank for a while for a great price of $16. I added it, its starting to not be so shy and coming around already in view. He doesnt seem to be bothering or getting bothered at all so far.
