need help on shrimp

    Banded Coral Shrimp do they eat other shrimp?mine is eating my fire shrimp as I type this :-[ I don't know if the fire shrimp was dead or the banded shrimp killed him??anyone have had this happen to them? :-/

    well...im not sure if the coral banded killed it...but if ur fire shrimp died, they do eat dead shrimp :( sry

    if the coral banded shrimp was alot bigger...well he coulda done it, most people say they haras smaller shrimp, so killing could have been next :( sry

    Yes they do. Coral Banded shrimp will not tolerate other species of shrimp in an aquarium.

    I agree with amcarrig, coral banded shrimp will prey on other types of shrimp. In fact one of my LFS will not sell you other types of shrimp if you have a coral banded shrimp. I had one that used to chase my blennie if it got too close.

    lol coral baned shrimp try to act tuff, at my lfs when i walk past one it sticks its claws out like it wants to fight me ( i know that a defensive move but...still :))

    I doubt that it will actively hunt your fish. It may try to attack any fish that wander into its territory though.

    Wow, somebody beter tell my CBS. Ive had him for about 5 months and he never bothers anyone. He is about 4 inches. I have never seen him even give a glance at my fire shrimp but mabey I have the only freindly shrimp. Or mabey its because I feed the tank everyday. Or mabey he will turn mean.....I have seen a peacefull fish grow an attitude. Sorry to hear about your shrimp

    well mine might be that sizes as well.I'm scared to stick my hand near any of the rocks lol ;D
