I paid for 30lbs of LR and this came to life.

Do i feed it?

There's nothing in my tank so i dont dose it with food yet.

it used to have hair like stuff to it but thats all gone now.

 

No you do not feed it. You will see other types of sponges as your systems ages. Populations will wax and wane. There is some information out there about providing additional Silica to promote sponge growth.

I agree. Definately a sponge. I have a couple similar in my system, and then other types that look completely different. No need to feed it. It can sustain itself.
