I am getting a 200 gal salwater setup on Monday for FREE. My friend is moving and wants the tank gone so my question is I have a 29 gallon and am new to Saltwater and the tank setup has no pump they are missing what kind of filtration , bedding , should I setup with on a fish only base rock

If you are new to saltwater, I would suggest starting with a Fish Only w/ Live Rock (FOWLR) setup. You don't need high power lights for this setup. Lighting a 200 Gallon tank will be expensive. The main question, going from a 29 gallon to a 200 gallon, can you afford the maintenance of a 200 Gallon tank. It's a lot more salt, a lot more water, a lot more rock, and more work.

i do not believe it is necessary to criticize someone like this, how often do all of us use correct punctuation grammar etc. when writing on this forum?

i say go for it i only have a 55 gallon but everyday i wish it was bigger. it WILL be more expensive to get that tank rolling but will be welllll worth it! i would recomend aragonite sand for the bottom of your tank. 2-3" should be enough but the more the better. also did it come with a sump?

Just remember the equipment you will need just to get started...

Powerheads (if you don't have any)
Return Pump (if sump is used)
Protein Skimmer (highly recommended especially if you are new to salt)
    Salt/Water
    Substrate/Rock
Lighting (minimal if you do a FOWLR)
    Test Kits
Filters (Hang on if no sump, carbon reactor/filter, canister, gfo, etc.)
All the overlooked small things (net, magfloat, scrapper, food, timers, water storage containers...)

This is a very demanding, very expensive hobby, and starting with a 200 gallon is nice, if you have the time and money to give it.
