Hi all. I need your help to decide on a course of action. To keep it short I have 1 large aptasia that has been growing for a year right next to a large toadstool colony. Here is the dilemma. It does not seem to affect my toadstool and cannot reach my acro. It has never multiplied past just this one for some reason.

Question: do I risk kalking or aptasia x it to remove it and hope no spores release or let sleeping aptasia lie so to speak? Thanks

    Preferably with fire.

Is it possible to remove the rock it's on? Boiling water in a turkey baster does the trick pretty well while killing any spores that may also be released. I would also kalk it outside of the tank, if possible.

+1 if you can pull the rock, personally like a butane torch and then some JB aqua weld or super glue afterwards just to be safe;)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Turn off the pumps and use a thick kalk paste while the anemone is open. Try right for the center of the anemone, because they will usually consume some. Also cover the anemone with (within reason) some paste and let it sit for up to 10 min before turning the pumps back on.

    Good Luck.

Looks like I'm killing it. No way to get the rock out. It has a huge colony of toadstools on it and is a center bottom rock weighing about 10 lbs. now just need to decide between aptasia x and kalkwasser method

They are both basically the same thing. Kalk paste you can make up thicker though.
