Some new frag additions. I didn't like the rest of the pictures of the new frags, I will take them again tomorrow with improved settings.

And for Magnus, the reverse Durso.

If you can't tell, it consists of a 90 at or above the waterline which is attached to a reducing Tee (the kind where the side outlet is smaller than the 2 that are across from each other). You then attach 2 pieces of short pipe to the remaining outlets on the Tee, 1 up and 1 down. You can then take a pipe cap and drill a hole in the top of it to cover the portion of pipe protruding from the water to help silence the air bubble noise, splashing, and salt creep.

It looks great, dude!! I'm very happy for you. Thanks a lot for the reversed durso pics and instructions. I wish I could somehow create a full siphon with my overflow box so it would all be bubble free, but seems to be impossible. I've tried submerging the HOB Overflow all the way down, and the flow is better, but the bubbles and gurgling sound is just unacceptable. I'm going to home depot today to get the bushing for the durso stand pipe I want to stick in the overflow, The problem is that I need to make some cuts to effectively lower the HOB overflow all the way, which will require to move some rocks. I'll borrow my dad's reciprocating saw, since there's no way I can get back there with a hack saw.

I'll try to do all this between today and tomorrow. Not sure the reverse durso will work in my setup. The sump is drilled and I siliconed the hell ouf of a 90 elbow that aims downwards, from there, there's a 1" straight pipe with holes all over that goes under the water line. It puts a lot of bubbles and salt creep is getting annoying. I can replace the pipe, but the elbow would still be aiming down and I don't want to buy a new bulkhead. The only thing I could do, would be to remove the elbow all together (if possible) and extend with a piece of straight pipe and then attach the T to it and go from there... but that's only if I'm able to remove the elbow without any major disturbance of the sump as it sits right now. I'll have to think about it before I do anything.

there has to be some sort of one way valve to place on top of an overflow tube so that you dont lose suction. Sigh, of corse that single piece would cost more than drilling lol

So I've got a problem... My frag rack is full! I've been meaning to get pictures, of all the new aquisitions, but I'm waiting for them all to open up completely before snapping some pics. A note of bad news, I came home today to find out that my Jawfish managed to wiggle is way out of my canopy using the 1/4" gap I left on either side of my HOB filter. It seems as if I'm doomed to a tank full of coral with 1 clown in it lol. I promise frag pictures when they are all open and pretty.

No he didn't. Because he went out the back, he fell into the mess of wiring behind and below the tank, and he had apparently been out of the water for a while.

So sorry to hear about your jawfish, dude :(

If you have any egg crate left cut some pieces that will fit on/in that gap and put them there. How small was that jawfish? Do you thin he could he have made it through egg crate as well?

The Jawfish was very small. He would've probably made it through the egg crate if he got lucky.

I see... maybe the plastic mosquito net or gutter guard would work better in that situation.
How about that big tank you started some time ago? How did that go? I can't find the thread!

It is still a freshwater tank, but I will be breaking it down shortly, and I won't be setting it back up until I get a house.
