I mixed up a 1:1 ratio of lemon juice with boiling water (5 cc's total) and injected an aiptasia anemone. I had some left over and decided to try it out on my large flatworm population. A small squirt caused them to shrivel up, let go of the glass and get blown away by the current; the larger ones took two squirts.

    Thought I would share.

Are you not concerned about the toxins the flat worms release when they die?

Flat Worm Exit would do the same, no? This way, I am only killing what I see, which limits the amount of toxins in the water. Do this everyday for some length of time and I slowly eradicate the problem with adding synthetic chemicals and without massive die off at one time.

I don't think so bro, flatworm exit just traps them, then you remove them and they die, you're way, they die in the tank and release the toxins. Just food for thought;)

What do you mean, trap? Like I said, I'm not killing many at once, so toxins aren't really my concern.

I appreciate you sharing the outcome.

My only concern is that some might not know that it would be a bad idea to try out that particular remedy on a tank heavily populated with FW.

For the stray FW good info though.

What makes Flatworm Exit any less risky? The way I see it, my way is safer because it does not kill them all at once nor are you adding synthetic chemicals.
