Is it a reef tank or a fish only tank?

    mccoskers.

The melanurus will outgrow the 46g, and they can get a bit aggro when bigger, A copperband is a tough to care for fish.

Coral beauty or a potters would be a good choice if there are no corals, or you don't mind an angel possibly nipping at corals.

A friend's melanurus is easily 7 inches if not 8.

fairy wrasses are usually pretty passive, but if the ruby headed is a little territorial, in a smaller tank like that it could be an issue. Then again the existing wrasse may become buddies with the new one.

I've been researching angels for my tank, and I've read from several sources that potters can be difficult to keep alive in a home aquarium. Also, I think it would get pretty cramped in a 46.

If it was me, I'd go with the McCoskers.
