Hey! Sorry for the delay but everything is working well... I keep the lids open on my tank and added an ATO. I am going to ditch compacts and install LED. This should get rid of the heat & look amazing.

Hey did you ever get your heat issue worked out? Everything seem to make it okay? I did a search for 85 degree because that is what my tank is currently running at. After adding the new 10g fuge, being in a closed cabinet with all access doors shut, and two 6500k compact florescents that have been running all day took it's toll

I did turn my heater down, but after reading this I understand what m2240 is saying about there is not point, it will cause larger fluctuations in tempature.

So I will definitely look into getting a fan.. honestly I will probably have to settle for a clip-on desk fan and place that aiming up or something, but the one m2240 posted seems really sleek.

I think it would fit in the biocube over chamber 2. Just look at the dimensions and measure it out.

+1 m2434 great info!!! i had know idea the ocean was this warm! i thought my corals were happy around 76º but after reading this I think I will boost it up to around 80º and try to keep that as consistent as possible

I really wish that Azoo Twin fan was sold at LFS, maybe I'll have to ask them to order it for me - its very nice and I do not know how well a desk fan would work inside a cabinet with the doors shut

also a second thought -- on a 29g DT w a 10g fuge should i run a hydror 100w or 200w and at what tempature is optimal to keep them set for? 80 seems too hot

Hey!! This is a super old post, but ill help ya out.

I installed two computer fans, one on top of chamber 1 and 3. Also I had the back lid open at all times.

Where is your heat coming from, I thought you had LEDs?

in the sump i'm running the stock 10g lighting fixture but i replaced the bulbs with 2 13w 6500k PC's

i have halimeda sp. and chaeto algae growing down there, plus live rock and i have had success growing coralline algae with these bulbs (from lowes) so i know i can purple up my fuge and LR, as well as grow many types of macro's and maybe even leathers (xenia sp will be first to be guinea pig)

but ya, the light really pumps out the heat on the fuge which returns to the DT :/
