Sense you don’t have a fuge, I would suggest you put 1 or 2 mangroves in the tank, to keep down the waste when you get some fish.
What type of sand are you using?
What is the flow rate of your filter, and power head?
What do you keep your temp at?

i only have 5lbs but i think i need at least 5 more maybe 10? As far as sand I used caribsea in the bag from the LPS. I just found a great reef place and got the live rock and critters (snails and blue hermits). The filter is a penguin 150 rated for 30 gallons and i just added the hydor nano 240 gal an hour in think. My heater is a 50w that keeps the tank at a 78-79. No skimmer yet but i wanted to get a cpr bak pak with the bio bale chamber and put chateo in it. A thought.

You need 5 more ponds minimum, but I would go with 10.
Also, so you don’t have to buy expensive live rock, you should get base rock. It will turn into live rock.
As far as the bio wheel, I don’t run them, but I don't see why I would hurt anything.
