I just got a JBJ 24 gal Nano. Curious what you use in the filter area?

It came with bio-balls, ceramic stones, and a bag of carbon. I was thinking just the sponges and LR rubble? What works for you?
    Thanks in advance!!

Get rid of the bio-balls and ceramic stones and use Seachem Matrix bio-media. Put in in a mesh bag and drop it in. The stuff works great in higher flow areas. I have a bunch of it in my Aquapod, and it works great..

in the back of my cube i have the filter cartridge in the first (carbon and sponge)
then in the second chamber i converted into a fuge i took out the bioballs and put in lr and cheato then i scraped the paint off the back and made a "light box" with a 6500k spiral bulb and a gang box and the lightbox is up against the part that is scraped off to light the fuge.

Thanks for that great info! Gonna see if my LFS has some, if not, then order some!

What a great idea!!! The pics you attached won't go larger and are to small. Anyway to get them bigger? And are you running the nano skimmer? I hear it works pretty good for a small tank. Thanks!

K+ for the two of you!

it worked good for awhile (skims wet and you can't really change that though) made its money worth but the air pump died out and haven't gotten around to another one just using cartridges now

alright sorry it took so long but here are some pics :)

i took some of it on the tank and some of the housing in case you wanted to do something like it

we used a socket we got at the home depot for 1 cent must have been there like 20 years lol
then used a 12 foot extension cord cut it to size stripped a end and hooked the wires up to the screws. works great and costed about $10 for the housing not including the bulb.
