As has been mentioned, I wouldn't panic yet. I would, however, put the elegance corals on the sand as they can damage their flesh on the rock. Try not to touch the flesh of these corals if/when you move them because they are very sensitive.

Although it is very very early to add all those things, especially the clams, now that you have them make the best of it. The clams may actually help bring your nitrates down a bit (they can feed on them, from what I understand).

As has been said, just have saltwater in a reservoir mixed up, and if you see your nitrates rising, be prepared for a water change. One other suggestion is that you could use some more live rock in your tank - we often suggest 1.5-2 pounds per gallon water. You can buy base rock, which will be seeded from the liverock you already have.

Holy crap dude! That is a ton of coral. How did she manage to bring it all back home at once and then find a place to put each one. She must have been busy all day. Those are some pretty awesome looking ones she picked out too. I hope everything goes well and they all make it. If not, you could always send them to me :).

holy crap your wife is rad, a little overzealous perhaps but definitely rad. I wouldnt worry about taking anything back, just do heavy water changes every week for the next couple months and the strong will survive. I have friends that mix water, aquascape and stock all in the same day. Now thats too crazy for me but it works for them... somehow.

Just got a call from one LFS and he finally received one white pulsing xenia. I was really looking for this one as one of my first coral to put in. Well no more but at this stage one more will not hurt and I am very happy. The LFS guy says it’s really pulsing strong..

Checked params again this morning and everything is k, and NO3 didn't move. :)

I would either get some Microbacter7,Prodibio BioDigest or one of the other nitrifing bacteria additives and start dosing as a new tank. This will help with the cycling and any spikes. Thank your wife because she had good intentions, alot of wives think the aquarium is a money pit. She just needs some education in the cycling process and then both of you can enjoy the reef tank.
