also you can get inside AC units that vent through the window and you can move them around.

you could always try some fans in the room to bring down the temp as a temporary fix? not sure if that would work or not but you could certainly try

oh just realized you said you are doing that but you could add a few more if you have any extras laying around

Temp is currently 82.6. Lowering slowly, but surely. Changed the ice out for one last time tonight. Will leave things as they are & see how things go in the morning. Off to bed now; I've got school tomorrow.:(

Im having same problem. turn your thermostate all the way off however. your still churning out heat from it.

this might sound odd but my cousin did this and reported huge success...no need for a chiller.

    1) taking a vacuum hose, sticking one end into the fridge and the other end on the intake side on the airpump.
    2) close fridge and secure airline so it can't be pulled out easily and wont get kinked. :hammer:
    3) attach an airstone and place in tank/sump and have some super chilled air going into the tank. should cool you off nicely and free too!
Never needed to do it myself but my cousin living in florida does and did until he got a chiller.

this works nice if your fridge is close but if you have a ways to go its just a matter of getting a good long length of hose and running it to the fridge or freezer.

also saves you from changing out water bottles which will make you temp go down and up and down and back up everytime the ice melts and you replace it.

Hope this helps! i thought i had issues and my tank in the past has gotten as high as 81

That's not really free. You have the refrigerator doing the cooling instead of a chiller; it's likely using a bit less power due to the efficiency of doing it at a scale, but that may be balanced by the extra cooling it needs because the door won't be sealed.

i hope you are using more than 4 ice cubes(my tank is 3gallons) like i said i was. with a gallon storage bag full of ice should have brought your temp down faster than the rate its goin.

I'm pretty sure it's down by now lol. It's been dark for a while.

I sure wouldn't want to live somewhere where 80+ was the nighttime temp in the spring, tho.
