I try to keep my temp at 80 degrees F. It only ever fluxes between 79.2 - 80.6. Well, we don't have air conditioning and its getting hot out. It is currently at 83.4 degrees. I have a fan aiming at it & I turned the lights out early. I turned the temp down on my thermometers(currently set at 78).The temp appears to slowly be going up...What should I do?

Also, what would you suggest to do as a plan, in the case of this happening again?

FYI: It's like 85 degrees outside.

get an ac unit for the window in that room. cheaper than a good chiller and wont shock your fish. takes 10 minutes to install for most cases

Haha. I don't. It really sucks. The house usually stays around 74-77

We have though about this. But we live in an old house. One of those with leaded windows that open into the house. - 2 vertical windows panes, separating in the middle. I think we have 3 windows that an ac unit will fit? one is on the first floor, painted shut. -.- I guess that's what you get when you rent an old house...

Currently at 83.6. It got up-to 83.9, but seems to slowly be going down. Took all advice given. Thanks.

MH lighting? could be an ongoing problem....There's lots of DIY chillers also. Also used chillers are often very reasonable.

    Good luck.

You can use a utility knife (aka box cutter) to un-shut that window.

Thanks. I'll see what I can do, as we are tight on money currently. Hopefully, a window-ac-unit, will be in the future.
