my heater is not working or idk why my temp is 72-76 in my QT tank... i have 3 fish recovering.
how can i raise the temperature besides adding warm water. ?? its 72 in the morning and then it slowly rises up to 76. how long do i really have before seeing ill effects if any?

what kind of heater are you using?

can you manually change the temp?

72 is not that terrible IMO and if the temp got there gradually rather than suddenly there is a good chance no ill effects will be suffered
the saving grace being that its a QT anyway which means if there is a resulting parasitic outbreak due to the drop in temp/ changing conditions at least you fish are in an ideal place for you to react to this

but you do want to have a spare heater just in case for future, so dont but a new one, if the one you have is faulty buy 2 new ones IMO

Agreed; keep a spare heater around!

I had the same issue a year ago -- my emergency fix was to fill a half gallon jug with hot water and float it in the tank; be sure to monitor the temp closely if you do this!
