I use a maxi-jet and some 1/2" tubing and everything goes out/in the sump with the pumps off. With a heater and some mixing, the water is identical to what is being take out. The fish don't even know a water change is going on, works perfect if you have a big enough sump.

no sump, hence the very slow airline method.

I siphon water out, then pump it back in with a rio 600.

I have a tee in my return line with a shut off valve. I connect a hose to it and run the hose to the bath tub. I use a hydor l40 pump to pump the new water in to my dt.

I use a Sicce Syncra 1.5 to take the water out of my tank also to mix and add the water back in with a broken leg so there is no lifting.

i just place an empty bucket on a chair and siphon 5 gal out of the DT using an inch and a quarter hose. Then i switch out that bucket with a bucket of new salt water and siphon into sump. takes about 5 minutes and i do it twice a week.

Thats exactly what i use (the hose from my vac).I manually siphon a 5 gallon bucket out,use a maxijet 400 (which also fits the hose perfect) drop it in my fresh saltwater bucket and pump it back in.I keep two 5gal buckets,a dirty one for old water, skimmate, etc. And a clean one with lid for nothing but wc's.But without a sump,it makes it much easier than lifting it to the top of my tank.

Ok I'm being dramatic, but moving 90 pounds to where I need is a PITA! I guess it's my punishment for being too dumb to remember a hose at lowes. Take this!!!!!!!!!lol
