The Koralia 3 is often described as a wave maker as it sends the water out in a nice wide flow pattern and not focused like the old style power heads (Maxijet for example)

    another K3 would give you 1700 gph = 22.6 x tank volume
and that would be a good start for a tank with soft corals and LPS corals IME

You may want to add another smaller one at a later date, depending on how well the flow from the 2 K3s performs

depends a lot on what type of corals you ultimately want to keep
I have an under tank cabinet with half a dozen different brands and sized powerheads/ wavemakers, due to the experimenting done with flow, before arriving at what I feel is right for my tank

but a general principle is - 2 smaller ones are better than 1 large one
in that its much easier to control the flow and direct it in a manner thats suitable for the corals if you have 2 wavemakers at 750 gph for example, than it would be with 1 wavemaker rated at 1500 gph

Great looking tank so far, rock work is very good, should give hiding places yet allow water to circulate through. When you get the second pump aim it parallel to the current one and that will give you a nice random flow through the tank.

Looks good, can't wait for updates. Is that seachem gray coast sand? I like it. For flow, be careful if you have softie, some will do ok with high flow, but others not so much. I think 25-35x tank volume, per hour turnover, is about max IMO for a softie dominated system. You don't need that much though even. If you add hard corals, that recommendation could change a bit though. You're already at the high end for a softie tank really. Depends on the wavemaker though, a true wavemaker, like a tunzewavebox, adds a standing wave, which many do not consider part of the turnover. Something like hydors on a "wavemaker" module, does not create a standing wave and does add to the total turnover. Also, for a standing wave, there are reported issues with tank seems failing, as many fish tanks can't handle the energy and it rips them apart, quite literally by the seams.

Edit: sorry, not at the max... I read it as 3x850 not korali 3 - 850 gph unit
