Are you going to glue or otherwise secure the rocks together. It could just be the pictures but that doesnt look like a very stable stack.

On the LED side with the way that light is recessed you might be able to build a LED panel that fits in that area with very minimal modding to it then just run the wiring around and down the backside of it.

i dont know what im putting inthere i have a thread on stocking questions. also the rocks are silliconed together i was attempting to make several shelves for coral placement. also how much do you think putting led's on the original fixture would cost. cuz right now its pretty much cost that will help me decide whether to go that route or to get a par30

check rapidled.com for exact prices but I would see fitting (or needing) more than 8 or so LED's. Of the top of guesstimation I would say under $100 should get you everything, so your looking at around the same range as a PAR 30 bulbs. I would think you can get the LED's in and give it a more subtle look over a PAR bulb. From what I seen on the net mind you its like 'hey look at the big bright bulb' and not 'hey look at my tank'. I havent seen one in person so that could be completely off.

ill definitely look into installing them intot he original fixture, but how would i go about doing it would i just kinda cut away the plastic. sorry im not used to doing electrical work whatsoever so step by step instructions are a must. also not very experienced with led, more so with halides and t5 but i would really love to try them out.
