WT&? dude who is talking about calcium tests? your talking nitrates & nitriates & talking a complete incorrect way to use them.

Which test are you using, how are you using them, and what are the results?

 

look guys ive been in this hobby for 7 years, but ims till only 15 so i make mistakes sometimes and cut some corners. i said all tests zero. i was just saying that for the calcium test you add drops till it turns purple not for the nitrite or nitrate.

 

WARNING: Do not shoot yourself in the foot. If you can't tell, most user who like to help others on here have said screw it to your thread. Don't lose the only person truying to help you right now by starting with the "i went over this already" stuff. Your story changed a lot throughout the thread and I am trying to figure out what exactly happened and did not happen. where you were confusing something and where you were not.

Please answer the questions instead of getting defensive. There is no need for that.

Your beneficial bacteria is on and in your LR and sand, not floating in the water. Making you using established tank water useless towards the cycle. The LS did help, but it will not cause your params to react the way they are.

this is a build thread. i did not come here to get judged on how i am cycling my tank. i just added that in. and it became a huge thing. this sint even what the thread is supposed to be about thats why everybody said screw it is because it has become polluted with argument after argument. i would rather we just leave this all behind us i know perfectly how to take care of this tank it is my 14'th tank i have kept in this hobby and it is going to end out as good as all the others. i know you are only trying to help but this is only digging the whole even deeper for my build thread. if i could restart this on a new thread without pissimg people off i would do it in a heart beat. i want the best for my tank and i know everybody here wishes me the best of luck as well. i want this whole thing to just calm down. i have ran so many tanks before and i know how to cycle. the tank is perfectly fine it just has a damsel in it. its not like its loaded full of fish and coral and its not cycled. the tank is pretty much cycled about half the water and all the sand came from an established tank. i know my test kit is not very accurate it is very outdated i bought it 4 years ago. but its all i have. in my experience if it was set up this way with sand and water from an existing tank. it is already cycled. i do not have good funds and i will probably not be able to get a test kit for a couple weeks. i have run tanks without test kits often.

 

you know what khoust, i was starting to look up to you as a knowledgable informative person. but that comment right there made me question your maturity level and your patience. its amazing how one little comment can change the way a person sees someone isnt it?
