What test kit are you using? It seems strange it would just disappear unless a lot of water evaporated or you did a WC....

 

ive just topped off a little water here and there. the test kit is an API, i tested it 4 times and it all turned out the same.

 

Tube or strip? Just wondering, maybe that test before was off?

 

its tube, its one of those complicated ones where you put the drop in until it turns pink or you have to wait thirty seconds and what not.

 

Your nitrates do not lower when water evaporates.

You just claimed earlier that your nitrates were 0.05 and your nitrites were 0.0 and that you were just confusing the two. How are your nitrites just now 0 if they were 0 before?

 

Would this actually concentrate the amount then?

 

no before i had nitrites were .05 and nitrates were 0. now everything is 0, so i dont know what that means?

Did you have any spikes in ammonia or nitrites during your cycle? Did you put anything in to y our tank to decay to start the cycle?

 

yes during the first 4 days it spiked with the peak being around the end of the 3rd day and beginning of the 4th.

 

What was the highest you tested those two parameters at.
