How does this put his integrity on the line???
This is an ONLINE forum where you take the best advise given at your own risk. No advise is 100% correct.

This is his tank, his money, his responsibility to do things how he sees fit.
Im not saying it's ok to add fish to a tank that isn't cycled but many people cycle with damsels and it works fine. Even if other people don't agree.
That doesn't mean they do not have experience or knowledge..
You guys are making this look like if it was a crime..

Like I said.. The fish is already there, so instead of bashing him how about some constructive criticism...

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
If you do go to the LFS tomorrow, consider picking up some Microbacter7 if you have the funds. It might help some at this stage in the tanks growth and come in handy farther down the line.

Yellow tail damels are my favorite damsel beside clowns.

yes i was getting nitrite and nitrate mixed up, i feel like an idiot i assumed that the water and sand from the tank would help more than they did. ill try to get one of those as soon as i can. how much do they cost?

    No,

It does not cycle the tank, but it might provide more beneficial bacteria. It's a product that I have used in the past and really liked. Here is a link to the product by Marinedepot.

    Brightwell Aquatics MicroBacter7
