Okay. And for future reference I have read here that adding established water won't help cycling. Wondering what you thought?

i am aware it doesnt help very much, but adding the sand and water both from a well established thriving reef tank will make the tank have only a tiny little cycle only lasting 4-6 days, i know some posts mislead you guys into thinking i only had water in the tank for 6 days. and im sorry about that

if you have that much nitrite you tank has not cycled. it should be 0-0.25, a nitrite of 5 is deadly. might wanna check you test kits.

Im sorry, but you still have NITRITE present in your tank. Like somebody (or everybody else?) said, its not fully cycled!
You think its been 2+ weeks, but its safe to say its been only 6 days. You shouldve gotten a thermometer instead of the poor damsel.

I see you everywhere on this forum, giving people really good advice/opinion, and I will say this with great respect, you should know better!

Come on people give him a break!
Like you guys never done anything that wasn't by the book...
That damsel will be perfectly fine in the tank even if he placed it from day 1. The sand was live sand so I believe that his cycle shouldn't have taken too long. CHILL OUT!!!
Either way the damsel is already there....

I think your tank looks great bvb..
I would add a bit more rock but that's IMO :p

Maybe a piece of LR with lots of coralline to get you started on it.
