her tummy, if she was abandoned, prob isn;t used to food or good food, so that may be a normal albeit messy transition! are their red streaks leaving the surgical site?

She wasn't abandoned as far as we know. Her tummy doesn't have any red lines radiated outward but it's all red, puffy, oozing a little, and appears to have some pus coming out. I'll try to get a pic soon.

that;s not good! not at all! I'd consider a trip to the vet ASAP! That can spread quick in that area! At least see if ya can get her on some antibiotics!

I agree with hitting the vet. Animals don't usually show signs that they're ill until farther along. Hope she feels better!

We're going as soon as we can tomorrow. We put some antibiotic cream on it, then covered it with a gauze pad, and then wrapped an ace bandage around her abdomen to keep her from messing with it until tomorrow. It seems to be working for now but we are def going to take her in.

good luck ta ya'll! Sorry for this to happen to the new addition! is there any animal hobby that's cheap?;) if ya have some antiobiotics for you handy ya can crush some up and mix it with food! Please research this before doing though! My best friend is a vet and helps me with this! But she's asleep and i'm not sure what all is safe!

Just got home from the vet not too long ago. Turns out she had bad ear infections in both ears so we got some medicine for that. As far as the incision goes, they said it was closed completely on the inside but not all the way on the outside so that got re-glued shut. She also got two booster shots for her vaccines. And they said the vomitting is most likely a result of the culmination of everything; new home, new environment, ear infections, irritated stomach, etc.

Here she is now, all exhausted and completely hating the new collar which she has to wear for 7-10 days now.
