Ok I moved up from a 65 gal tank to a 106 gal tank.I bought the acrylic tank used and cheap.I had to make a stand and canopy. In the stand I fused together my sump from the 65 with the sump that came with the acrylic tank. Now I have bio ball filtration too.after the bio balls I put a bunch of live rock chunks. Then it goes to the protein skimmer.I need to take a pic of the sump for ya.
The canopy:I made a pvc light rack that holds 8 4ft t5 lights. 2 workhorse 7 ballasts run them.I didnt have the money for good reflectors so I used the aluminum roof flashing and sprayed it with chrome paint.
For the skin I used flekstone paint. It looks sharp and love the texture.
I did all this for $340 total
The pvc rock rack has since been somewhat faced with rocks and is purpleing up nicely for only 2 months running.

8' x16"x16" It was exactly what I wanted to do the t5 lighting.I had pc's in the 65 The power bill has dropped tremendously because the chiller was going full time and the a/c was too with all the heat from the pc's plus I'm only useing 2 ballasts intead of 4.

Very unique tank and pretty good looking. The fish must love the 8ft of swimming room.

wow thats a cool looking and unique tank. I like the whole pvc rock rack idea. i bet that has its advantages in such a long tank.

The tank size is not one ive seen either. Was it a custom made tank ?

if you feel like spamming us with more pics - i would definitely enjoy them!

I found a better idea for a rock rack after this was up and running but I have found some flat rocks too face this one so it isnt as noticeable.Plus the coraline has it almost covered up in almost 2 months time.I think I have way more control over my nitrates useing the rock rack. When I do a water change even a small one they drop considerably.
