12.8 lbs of rubble due to poor Shipping and Handling / Packaging

Well at least you won't be ordering frag plugs anytime soon!! ;D I actually love having rubble on hand. I tend to snap frags off plugs and glue them on rock. Especially ORA frag plugs, those things are horrible!!

Yeah I don't mind having rubble ... there is always a use for it.

but 12 lbs of rubble ?? that would be a huge piece of live rock lol

Oh well, hard to be upset when I'm so happy with the rest of the rock. The price was right, the rock looks great, and I'm sure there was more than 50 lbs in each box by a lb or two.

Did you notice phosphate spikes as a result?

I've read a lot of complaints from people who bought dry rock that it leaches phosphates into the water for a long time ...

I haven't started that tank yet but ive heard the same thing from my lfs!!! They said that with dry rock you usually expeirience some algae for the first few months. I didn't believe them but now that you mention it..,

I'm not sure about phosphates but most dry rock will cause an algae bloom. Even well rinsed rock will still have silicates and be a feeding ground for diatoms. My 29 gallon has about 20 lbs of well established rock and about 15 lbs of new base rock from Reefcleaners and I've got diatoms everywhere. A good ole clean up crew and some time will cure everything.

Yeah I'm not overly worried about it. I just have read about pretty serious algae issues for the first few months when using dry rock.

I don't mind this at all because given some time, and a good clean up crew, and some macro in the fuge for additional phosphate absorption ... you cannot beat the price, and look of this rock.

Yeah I'd rather have some algae then pay 150$ more lol. I'll just make sure to get an intense cuc.
