My kids don't like hanging out with me :(

I know it is hard to not take it personally but is more than likely a case of them wanting to return to their"own lives" now that the holidays are over and not at all a case of them wanting to get away from you.I'm sure they enjoyed being home for the holidays and would'nt have wanted it any other way.

 

Yeah, being a parent of an 8 year old, I dread this day, but I did the same thing to my parents. Its a freedom/rebel/maturing phase I think most go thru. Its got to be tough, but just be there for your kids and they'll come back running for help some day, or just realize they were a ******* for a few years, like I did

i joined the navy when i was 18, right out of high school, and that took me away from my family, i hardly ever get to see them and there is no talking to them when im out to sea for 6-10 months out of the year, so i cherish every moment im with my mom and dad, and i call my mom almost every night, im a mommas boy tho. then again i am pretty southern too, so mom would just beat me if i didnt at least pretend to be having a good time around her. give them time, they'll come around.

 

It's just how amazing how fast it all went! Cherish those little ones! You're the best thing since sliced bread in their eyes .....believe me, the time goes by soooo quickly.
