Unfortunately because this medication requires a prescription it's against the law to advertise for it's use by others. Others have tried on all kinds of forums but it's the law.

I need to do a little research as to why vets are so reluctant to prescribe Sentinel, I believe it has cardiovascular side effects. I knew once upon a time but have forgotten. I was lucky when I needed it, it just appeared, but vets I knew would not even give me a script regardless of how I presented the intended purpose.

I ordered interceptor and never had to use it. (keeping it just incase) I killed my red bugs with multiple bayer dips. Supposedly this won't work for most people as the bugs can be anywhere in the tank but somehow it worked and I haven't seen them in a year. Worth a try if you don't want to risk killing shrimp you can' get out.

 

That's where I got mine. Also for OP if you get that it only comes in a chewable so from where I have been told it takes a while to get it to dissolve. You have to keep mashing it up in water.
It took 3 weeks to get it as it comes from Australia.

 

Don't know if you'd be willing to try but, I have heard some pipefish and some scooter blennys will eat red bugs. I know I've had flat worms for a while and my pink streak wrasse and my ruby red scooter destroyed the flat worm population. might be worth a go if you can't get your hands on some meds.

 

thanks for all the suggestions. Wife picked up prescription Saturday so order will be placed online. 6 month supply. Bayer dips in the future for any new comers which will be very few.

 

Dose 1 I did .075gram interceptor. 10GL WC next day. Noticed difference in qty Red bugs but still alive

5 days later dosed again but .1gram. 5gl WC next Day. Red bugs still there

Sunday morning dosed .2 grams.. oh ya that did it they be gone. 10gl WC after 12 hours
