I think every morning when my halides go on, it spooks the foxface and he/she bashes into the glass, goes into camo and hides for about five minutes. when I say bashes, I mean hard, this morning he hit the right side, then the front, and finally the left side before hiding. Anybody else notice this behavior with their foxface?

Mines nuts too. He usually doesn't hit the glass though. Hopefully he will be a little happier when I get my 150 up and running.

No, but I have seen it in stressed tangs and triggers.

Do you have supplimentals? Any way to ramp up the lights in increments? That might help.

Actinics go on about an hour before halides. He is fine with those. and it does take a few minutes for the halides to warm up to really bright. I don't think there is another way to slowly turn on halides. He is a little skittish but he is not afraid of me, actually eats out of my hand, just freaked out when lights come on.

mine does almost the same thing....i notice when the lights are off he goes all camo and in the morning when i turn the lights on he's still like that for awhile. goes away after about five mins and he's swimming happily. The problem with him smashing into glass might be attributed to the amount of hiding places it has. Your lights are comming on and he's probably a little spooked and thinking where the hell am i gonna hide!

He has his favorite hiding spot, and there are plenty of other spots in there. I think its just a matter of him being out in the open when lights come on. maybe I need to shorten time between actinics and halides. Takes him a while to wake up after actinics are on, maybe if he is still in hiding when halides come on he will not get as spooked and go tank bashing.
