Hi. I am called kitty2234 or KaseyRanch. My friend has started me back into tropical fish. She made all of the newbie mistakes. And I get to try to fix the problems and the fish.

We now have a breeding pair of Angelfish in a 29 gallon tank. So far, they have laid eggs once. But eventually they ate them. We are waiting for the next clutch.

One Giant Black Upside Down Asian Catfish in a 20 gallon tank, he is about 12' long; in a separate tank.

Also we have a few mollies, guppies, platies, swordtails, and an assortment of very mean tetras of several varieties. The tetras got the good fish tank. The mollies, guppies, platies and swordtails had to be separated quickly.

The tetras and the assorted tank have no heaters. The angelfish and the catfish have heat. The catfish has a water mover also.

The ph, nitrates, and all the other levels were tested at a pet store. Everything is fine with using our staight well water, non treated. The water smells funny, but is in all of the safe ranges. Soon, I hope to buy another tank and more heaters. :)

I have one 10 gallon tank that the 2 tetra species are in, about 8 fish are in there. But some of the tetra are bigger than an inch. They fight constantly. If I get a bigger tank, should I put the tetras in it? And put the community fish back in the 10 gallon tank? If the fish can hold out. I am hoping to buy a 20 gallon tank in a few weeks.

The tetras have sparse plants. One plant they all like to sit under. I am also thinking of trying to get them a second plant.

I think that the meanest tetra had a bite taken out of her. I think she is a female. She has a weird tumar looking thing, like her insides came out of the bite. It is near on her head.
