Well in my 29 gallon, my 2 clowns swim like they are olympic swimmer, even when at night. My fire fish comes out by time to time, and my goby is just somewhere in the rocks..hopefully he is still alive.

Anyway, is fire fish normally a little shy type? Mine sits on sand inside a cave half of the day, and rest of the day he swims fine.

yea, they get spooked easily, should start coming out more often as it gets more comfortable with its surroundings.

I just started researching fire fish, but I did read that they can be shy and like to hide. So don't worry!

Mines a weenie. It hides unless there's food to be had or he feels like jetting through the powerhead stream :p

That is the only reason I am not a big fan of firefish.

That and they like to jump, more so than any other aquarium fish it seems.
