    Hello,
I bought my clown fish 9 months ago and they were so little they always hung out in the corner in front of the window. a few weeks ago they started wondering around the rock work and they are obviously looking for a home, the bite my mushroom too. is it necessary to have an anenome for them or they will settle without one?

    Thanks

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
You can keep the clowns without an anemone and they will be just as happy IMO.

As clownfish get older they venture out more, hopefully they will find an area up front to reside in.

They will try to pair up with Hairy mushrooms as well as umbrella toadstools.

Clownfish don't need nems to live and nems don't need clownfish to survive.

As long as your shrooms aren't elephant ears, don't worry about.

I got a clown biting everything in the tank...torch, toadstool, hairy mushroom and even laying on some purple mushrooms. I'm excited cause I've tried for over a year to get it to host something
