Please post an update on the reef exhibit... last time I went, I was a bit disappointed in it... was hoping to see some awesome corals, but did not. It's probably really impressive to a non-reefer, but to someone who has a pretty sweet coral collection, it was kind of bland.

Also, I've always wanted a behind the scenes look at the big tank... there are dive opportunities, and I would love to dive it one day.

Can't wait to hear about it!

I think I could hang out in front of the main tank all day.

I've been twice.. and we sit for hours, just in ahh.. I love how the little kids just put their face up against the main tank and stare (future 3reef members).

I get tickled when my daughter gets to touch the corals and star fishes (two finger rule)... It's like watching us when we get a new coral or fish ;D... we were there the entire day each time...will be going there again soon...

Update: the DSLR was left home with the wife as she had other needs for it, but I did take lots of HD video. When I get home I'll try to render and post the videos this weekend.

When I visited last, I too was disappointed in the reef's corals. Sadly, almost the same this time. I was really hoping the 4 years would have let the reef grow in, but they haven't seemed to try to add a lot of specimen. There are a few large colonies of plating monti (all the same orange color), a few acro, and some others, but honestly, I've seen much more diversity in a lot of reefs on this forum. More or less a FOWLR with some coral. Maybe they're having issues, like the depth of the reef is probably a good 12'.

The behind the scene tour had some pretty cool reefs in smaller tanks, probably a 220 gal and a 75 gal.

I remember seeing some milleporina/ fire corals... it seemed like a lot of their corals were from the Caribbean, though the fish selection is from hawaii and south pacific...

I'm interested to hear about the behind the scenes tour...
