I noticed my angel fish wasn't coming out as much he just stayed behind this one rock it was his favorite spot... when I looked at him he seemed perfectly normal.. today when I came home from school it was dead. it was a very small pygmy angel, my water wasn't the bestest. my phosphates are a high 1.0 my nitrates were about .25 and I just put some carbon in. I fed about three times a week, he ate yesterday I just dunno what did him in. Im doing a 50% water change tomorrow to get my water perfect.

fish do pass away, and sometimes we dont know why - there are not always visible signs of a problem (internal parasites etc)

the parameters you describe above (do you mean 25ppm nitrate ) would not be the reason for the death of your fish

so a 50% water change may be an over reaction IMO

Yea I mean ppm... I just can't get my nitrates and phosphates to 0 thats why Im doing a water change. I feed them the ocean nutrition food.. in there was a tiny tiny baby clown less than an inch long.. a green clown goby, and a fire shrimp.. plus all the snails and hermies... thats it.

Sorry for your loss :( But your water seems okay, as long as there is no ammonia or nitrites. Nitrates and phosphates don't hurt fish. Well nitrates could if they were super high, but 25ppm isn't bad.

Sorry for your loss, I agree your parameters are not the problem. I think Steve's post nailed it on the head.

I believe unless i am wrong if you can find some type of food with a sponge supplement that will help angels. Just what I heard.
