    Cycling

Not much to look at really. Just wanted a record of this part of the trip since I never really took the time with my 46 to document so thoroughly. I finally have all of the major set up done and will use the next few weeks to tweek it and get it ready for the first inhabitants. :)
Contrary to the sellers claims the two squirrel cage fans will not be enough to keep temps inside the canopy down enough for my liking so two more 80mm fans will be added. I'm looking at a pair that have built in temp sensors and increase RPM with temp rise.
Anyway on to the pics...as bad as some may be :)

Just the two UVL 454 VHO's lit

Same shot, different setting on the camera. The coralline covered shell and coral skeleton in the fore-ground left, are from my 46. A tiny bristle worm hitch hiked in. Bet he survives the cycle. LOL

Right side of the tank. Notice the BAG O' STINK on the shelf :-X

The BRS carbon/gfo reactor I won at MACNA2010. Finally put to use and driven by the return pump.

The AquaController II I can't seem to get programmed yet LOL

Best pic of the little 40mm case fan I had to install on the ballast box for the VHO's. I can't get above it to get a better shot. Also the rows of holes I drilled through the sliding door. Had to do these things because the ballasts were getting too hot. Problem is solved now.

I used an old cell phone charger to power the fan. I didn't want to have another thing to plug in so I soldered 14 ga. wire to the prongs of the transformer and shrink taped them up. Made a hole in the side of the box so the prongs/wire could be hardwired to the power for the VHO ballasts. The transformer is attached outside of the box. I got a pic of the wiring but can't find that of the transformer.

Well, that's about it until I start putting life in there. Hopefully it cycles pretty fast. I added a cup or so of sand from my 46 along with some rock so it should take off fairly quick.

It does look entirely different. Wish you could see it in person. I'm already eager for it to color up. My buddy's did very fast. Now you can't tell the difference between rock and foam and it's been less than a year. When the cycle ends I'll scrape and collect all that I can from the glass on my 46 and put it in there.

Thanks Eric. I like it so far except I can't figure out the programming for the wave-maker function. I understand the commands, I just kind find where to enter them and the manual doesn't say. Right now it is only controlling my heater. Once I get the power strips installed and things are plugged in all the time I'll get the lights on a cycle and install the pH probe. Right now the only thing that stays plugged in when I'm not there are the pumps and that fire hazard you see in one of the pics is cleaned up/disconnected daily.
I'll probably program the alarm and have it ring my cell too. Also will utilize the data function if I can find the software I misplaced.

Hmm If the commands are anything like the JR they are a bit whacky. Took me a while to figure it out But then went a different route, and during the day when all my 4 powerheads are running, I have two of them plugged into a wave maker of their own... lol. So the controller just supplies the power to the wavemaker controller. I found that to be easier, and it freed up an outlet. LoL.

But I did get the wave maker function up and running for fun.. Are your commands similiar to this:

OSC 000/000 then ON Then (item) On/Off?

Pretty close to that ^^^ I don't have the manual here but that looks about right.
