Just read your whole thread and loved your patient and measured approach. Also, really unique looking tank with all the macro algae. Love it!

Do you have an update? Thanks.

No I got bored with it....M'eh not a reef, just another planted tank. :p

I should get some new pics up. I have Sargassum sprouting all over, even on the pumps. Yesterday I notice two small stalks of Codium growing on one pump.

I had a great big piece of halimenia given to me but let it die in the sump of my 75. Seemed like to much effort to attach it and take it down to the store.

The new title says it all.

My wife and I just signed the deal on a larger building and we are moving our business. The new store is in another close by town and everything has to be moved, even the tank. And since we aren't the best planners it has to be done quick.
So I set up an emergency system in my basement at home. Last night I got all the livestock out of the tank and moved them into their temporary home in my basement.
I don't feel like moving that tank with all that rock attached with foam so after I drained it I took all of the foam aquascape out. This is o.k. because I never really liked it that much anyhow.
I left all of the rock out in the air because not only do I need to find a way to get the foam mostly removed, I want that nasty grape caulerpa to die off. Never again in a display. Nasty stuff.
We'll move the tank Saturday. I'm hoping for a quick mini cycle so I can get the fish back in by the 5th of Nov.

The tank has been up and going for 3 weeks now. It went through a slight cycle and is at the end of a diatom bloom.
I'm very glad to be rid of the foam/rock aquascape. The tank doesn't look so cramped anymore and there is so much more open sand. And best of all there is no more grape caulerpa in the DT!!

I went with a simple horseshoe shaped wall. Tried not to end up with it looking to much like a stack of rocks and think I did a fair job. I also added another 2" of sand in preparation for a mated pair of yellow head jawfish.

I've left the tidal pool idea behind and will go with a Softie/macro mix. Leathers will be the dominant coral.

    Heres how it looks today.

    Inhabitants so far are the:
    Clowns
    Cardinals
    YTD
    Royal Gramma
    Serpent Star
    Fighting Conch

    Corals
    Blue Toadstool
    Tyree Neon Green Toadstool

Heres a couple pics of the critters that aren't hiding atm.

There was grape caulerpa and an Aiptasia living in the Xenia on the conch's shell. I scraped it all off.....

    Thanks Vinny!

    to who ever cares...
I didn't list the pencil urchin because it's there on loan from my 75. He's just here to clean up the dead grape caulerpa.
