Thanks Mag. He's going back on Tues. when the LFS gets more fish in and has something to trade for him. I wish I could put a couple emeralds in there but with it being macro dominant they would just have a huge feast on my plants. This is all a new learning experience for me. It's like being a newcomer again because now I'm learning how to lowering NO3/PO4 to the point the bad algae is starved out but the macro's have enough to thrive.

Big changes coming soon. I don't know if it's for the better and it kind of makes me ill....

Yesterday while attaching macro's to the foam arches I got a little rough I guess and the bond broke. The center began lift off and attempts at repair with nothing to really work with only made it worse. By 9:00pm the entire foreground wall had lifted and the only thing keeping the arches submersed was the center brace of the tank.
This morning when I came into the shop the right end had began to peel the foam off of the back glass so I cut it free. That let the end up which twisted/broke arches.
So I have decided that after the business is closed today I will take the canopy off and cut the entire arch structure out. :(
I have 15#'s of rock at home and I'll be making an order for another 30 from reefcleaners. Pic's of the re-scape to come.

Thanks John. It's a learning lesson I suppose. I'm going to attempt recreating some arches with the rock I have on hand.

Good luck, the attachment to the back is a tough issue. I wonder if gluing eggcrate to the back wall is the way to go.

Yeah I should have laid a foundation of eggcrate secured with silicone and built off of that. I figured that foam would never lose bond once cured, even on glass.

Actuallty I will only lose the arches. I can stack rock to hold the part of the back wall that tore. So I guess it's not THAT bad. It sure will open the tank up a lot.

It didn't turn out as bad as I expected looks wise. The wreck actually opened up a ton of sand bed and swimming room for the fish. I took the #25's from the fuge and around 20#'s from my grow out system's fuge. I was able to put in a couple of smaller arches and 2 pillars. I'm happy with the outcome.

Because of one of the "small percentage" of people still effected by Photobuckets going on 4 day maintenance, I have to attach one of the tiny thumbnails I despise

It happens...to me more than most I think sometimes...

But in the end I'm happier with the way it looks now. True it's not so unique anymore but I still like it.

The back wall has so much rock in it that it couldn't float away if it came loose. All of the rock you see on the right side of the pic is holding the foam that did pull loose back against the glass.
