I wanna try the same thing with my mangroves... Will look really cool when the roots grow over the rock

    Thanks!
I'm kind of taking a chance imho. The hawkfish may bar me from ever adding any shrimps or smaller inverts and if the mangrove roots get into the foam I won't be able to control their growth.

Yes it's getting better every day.

The hawk is real cool. He's already beginning to associate me with food so he comes out in the open every time he sees me.

Those macros look great! The tank is really starting to come together! It's looking so much more mature already!

He's trippy :) He perches on the rocks and watches for food. You can tell when he see's something yummy because his tail goes swishing a few seconds before he pounces.

Thanks. Makes it easier having corals to jack from the tank at home LOL

    Yesterday I added:
    4 more chromis
    Serpent Star
    4 BumbleBee Snails
    2 Peppermint shrimp
    Skunk cleaner shrimp

Now I fully understood the risks when putting a hawk into the hen house and that is why I chose the Falco over the Long nosed. Everything I read stated that it's a 50/50 on the fish being aggressive, eating shrimp, hermits, snails.
    I got this fish

Now he's got to go. This should be a joy and I foresee a lot of cursing in my future.
The peppermints were meant to be a cheap diversion to give the cleaner time to find a hiding spot. Satanfish has a champagne pallet apparently..totally ignored the peppermints before dragging the cleaner out of the caves to finish killing it. And the lights were off, tank and store. I was watching with a red lensed flashlight!

So first I'll try netting him during feeding
When that doesn't work I'll try a DIY bottle trap
If that doesn't do the trick I'll try the #14 fly hook
The only option after that is ??
Scuba Steve scale spear gun, i.e. rubberband, straw with a straight pin taped to it. I have a devilish side too.
