    Thanks for the compliment

This vid was created a couple of weeks after I set this tank up. So This is at the very beginning of this 90 gallon tank. Its made huge progress.

My buddy created this vid for me. He did a pretty good job editting to flow with the music. Enjoy!!!

ur tank is coming along nicely. My tank is about the same age as yours and I just went back to sps about 3 or 4 months ago. I had a sps tank for a long time but broke the system down and got rid of all of my corals and went back to softies and lps. When I moved all of my stuff into this tank, I decided I'm not liking the lps anymore and went back to the sps. now I have a bunch of nubs now.

I took a bunch of frags and used super glue gel. Ive seen monti growing off the back wall on other tanks before.

I had open space with the overflow and didnt know what would cover it nicely. So I played around with some glue and monti frags.

    Works well.

I have tons of frags myself as you can see.

I love sps.... Only softie I have is the blue ridge coral... But thats a borderline softie. Nothing wrong with softies. Ive seen some beautiful tanks with nothing but soft coral.

    I like lps too.

Well here is the custom stand im going to have built. Made out of oak and will be stained black.

    stand6a.jpg

The board inside pocket will be removable with a notch cut out for my plumbing. Reason it will be removable is I have to slide my sump in through the top. I want the board in so I can mount "stuff" on the ceiling inside my stand. Like ballast, lights, and whatever else I find.

For some reason pic didnt turn out as good here in the post.

I don't know if it is too late for a redesign, but a side door to be able to pull your sump out if need be is quite invaluable. My W/D had to be loaded in from the top, and it really limited me. When I made my fish closet, I wound up taking a sawsall to my w/d because I could not get it out without breaking my tank down. It is easy to put a door on the frame to allow exit and entry. some thing to consider.

    But ya... it looks great.

Not sure what I would hae to pull my sump out for. Ive never ran into a situation where pulling my sump out is a necessary.

What you think would force me to ever pull my sump out?

I can't quite remember why, but I know over the years I've had to pull my sump out more than once. As they say in the trades, "it's better to have it and not to need it, than to need it and not have it."

That was a consideration in my decision to build my current stand without a center brace. If you use your 2x4's vertically for the top frame or "box," you don't have to use a middle stanchion with a 4' tank.

    If you follow this framework,

you can build the shell around it, and leave the space b/w the two doors open. No support necessary. The stand as it is, is overbuilt. You can have your custom stand as you like, with open center. You should consider it, Patrick.

Change your mind, blow your bottom seal, break the glass for some reason. I don't see a regularly occurring reason, but I would try to incorporate it if I was making one.
