    Ive made progress!

Getting the lighting put together finally, lots of planning but heres what i came up with.

Rapid LED 36 dimmable kit, I cut the heat sinks in half, engineered a swivel mount using 1/4'' locline. I drilled and tapped the sinks so i could manufacture standoffs to allow air over the heatsinks to be better. the standoffs are 10/24 machine screws sheathed in 7/32''dia aluminum tubing. then i built the frame out of 1/2'' pvc and pulled all the wiring;D. I figurd this setup will give me max adjustabiluty as far as where the light is directed...PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK:):):)!!!

Dang! I've been on the brink of ordering a 36 rapid kit for my 65, now I REALLY wanna order it. What degree optics are you using?

That mounting system is definitely slick! But its probably a little overkill. I don't think its really needed. But man that's a sweet idea. Nice work

wow! thats pretty sweet. Very clever DIY and alot more flexible than a single heatsink.
The way im seeing it is you will only be using 24 leds though? 3 on each heatsink, total of 8 seperate heatsinks?

i went with 60 degree optics, yeah maybe a little overkill but i wanted to be able to highlight areas of the tank as needed rather than be limited to just up and down movement. Plus i wanted a clean looking unit so once its all done i will have accomplished both ;D

the heatsinks in the back row are about 40% larger and will have 6 LED each
