Great additions, you will love the montipora and the birdsnest. They grow reasonably fast for sps IMO.

    Hello all,
I added some new pieces to my aquarium. I added a green Birdsnest, and a purple Acropora Valida. I also added a large toadstool leather.

    I have a question,
Is my leather too close to the SPS? i have heard of toxins that they secrete which irritate SPS corals. Can anyone lend me some advice? my toadstool is 4 or 5 inches from the nearest SPS coral.

The first pic is of my different SPS corals. an ORA pink birdsnest, a green birdsnest, a purple Acropora Valida, and a green with purple rimmed monti cap.(the purple acro is hard to see with the contrast)

Next is my SPS with my new toadstool in the picture

next is a pic of the right side of my tank with my anemone

    Next is a FTS.

My tank has really started to mature over the last few months. I really like the way it is coming along. The only setbacks have been a little bit of Turf Algea that i am battling and bubble algea that is starting to grow. I intend to introduce matrix crabs soon.

Please let me know what you think and thank you for viewing...

Nice adds, as long as you are using carbon 24/7 and the flow does not come from the leather to the SPS you should be fine.

The Chromis are cool. Tank does look like it is filling up. The Valida is a great purple.

I agree always run a quality carbon with leathers, and I myself might consider moving them as they get larger. Maybe because I have a small tank and no skimmer, I had problems with leathers and my sps. Toad stools are great though, wish I had one.
