My mp40 will switch colors when i hit mode but nothing happens. Except reef crest which doesn't seem to ever go full power. So I'm stuck with just a constant speed. I can change how powerful still though. Is there a way to reset this? Or is it just jacked up.

what do you mean by nothing happens when pressing through mode button?
reef crest doesn't go full power right away, in increases speed in increments and then die down again and the cycle starts again.
    and as for resetting it,
hold mode and set, the lights will blink red/white and then blue.
after that hold mode switch then light will turn red/purple
then the pump will reset to factory default.

When I hit the mode button the light switches color but the pump doesn't change. It's just full time whatever speed I have it set at. The only mode that changes is reef crest. I just tried the reset and it didn't change anything.

Call or write Vortech Customer Support. [email protected] or (610) 954-8480. The live Customer Support people are great. They will take you step by step to help with the problem. Very patient people. Good luck.

FWIW, sometimes, if you have to use any of the buttons (Mode, Set, Option) you have to just tap the button/s as opposed to press & hold.
