I recently bought a MP40 and have it on my 4 ft 72 gallon bowfront.

My problem is that i think it is too much for the tank. I am not seeing a reason for having this wavemaker on this size tank.

All it does is blow thinks arround. Its posibly going up for sell unless I can set it where its not creating havock on my tank. Mabee go to some mp10's or tunze.

    Does anyone suggest other wavemakers?

I am in the process of setting up a 300 gallon. Should i put it on the 300?

id save it for the 300 if thats what you want to do, did you turn the flow down on it? you dont always have to run full bore on these, you can turn them down to almost nothing.. i have 2 on my 57 gallon and they are perfect.. but turned down

i have one on a 3ft 65g all the way up. no problems.
what is it blowing around? it could just be a placement issue.

I have it hooked up to a neptune wirerless controller. its mixes up the sequesnce throuought the day/night. i think its aroundclose to half power through all the sequences.

Is their a better place to mount it than the left or right side?

Since you have a bowfront the flow will be a little different, but what is it blowing around the sand? It should be pretty much centered from left to right in front of your rock.

I have one on my 72g try keeping it about 5 inches from the top. I have my "power" set to the 9th led.

I have it centered. i think their is too much blowing around the tank and my corals dont open up like they used to. ill try moving it more to the top.

I think it should work on your tank, but if not pm me if you want to find a home for it.

It may very well be overkill if you have a soft-coral or LPS dominated tank. what kind of corals are not responding favorably?
