OK so I'm still pretty new to the hobby. I gave a 55 gallon tank rite now but UT filling up quickly so I traded an Xbox 360 for a 112 gallon oceanic tank. My two lfs gave me conflicting advice so I figured I would ask here. One told me to use all my live sand from the old tank, the other told me not to use any of the old sand, that it would be bad fir the new tank, so who do I believe?

When you disturb a sand bed you kill some of the bacteria and that can cause issues. I'd definitely keep some. The question is how much? If it hasn't been running too long then I'd say to keep a bunch. If so then keep a some to help seed with fauna/bacteria - maybe 1/4 of what you've got now.
