Girlfriend is great bit the pics I have are probably not 3 reef friendly. Lol. I'll get some on here though. Lets just say 115 pounds looks awesome. Thanks for the lesson in reef acronyms, I'm still learning. I didn't realize how deep I got the sand so I figure I'll get some out with my next water change. I've heard over time it can be dangerous. All in all things went great and I'm happy I didn't lose any fish. Here's a pic of the tank now.

I am moving mine as we speak....got up at 5 am to tear it down and get it all packed up.

The last few moves I kept my sand but this time I decided to just ditch it and get new sand.

moving the tank sucks but it's not all bad, it gives me an excuse to buy new stuff for the tank :)

I agree. I like getting reasons to buy new stuff for my tank. My sand bed wasn't very old so I decided to vaccum it really well and top off with new live sand. Just take your time. I moved all my stuff out of the house Saturday so I could dedicate a full day to move the tank. Good luck with your move.

Your tank looks awesome...your sand bed doesn't look to be more than 2 inches....I'd leave it as is...I consider a DSB to be at 3 inches to above...just my .02....I think that you vacuumed it well and that it was only two months old made sense to keep it! Everything looks happy and healthy! Congrats!

oh, and I missed the new girlfriend...I thought you just broke up - wow you're a quick operator LOL...

Thanks for the compliment OFK. I'm really proud of my tank, I put a lot of care and hard work in it. It's weird how I ended up with another girlfriend so fast, it just happened. Not bad for a 34 year old guy, I still got it. Lol! I'm starting the 55 gallon in about 2 weeks, I can't wait :)

Good luck buddy. Been through it a few times myself. Best advice I have is throw out a few free beers and pizza. Maybe a frag or two if they're fellow reefers and get help. Also plan on this taking up the better part of a day to do. I've always left the sand in my tank and moved but you have to be very careful. If it feels too heavy don't risk it. Float a gallon of near boiling water in your new water to help raise the temp fast. (Please be careful) 4 gallons will raise the temp quickly in about 10 - 15 min. Better than waiting hours upon hours for the heater to do it. Highly suggest testing the ammonia, pH, and everything else before putting fish back in and then keep a close eye on it over the next couple days. Gl!
