It seems to only look dirty where the snails have been. I mean, the same spots aren't always dirty, just for a little bit when the snails go by. Maybe I'm being to anal about the sand :shifty:

Chitons are great. Nassarius get into the sand. My engineer goby and blue spotted jawfish stir the sand a lot. If your behind on vacuuming like I am it may cause a nitrate spike.

Haha can't tell if you're joking but vermetids are a nuisance creature that you don't want.

vermetid snails are the mucous net worm snails that annoy your coral. i got a tip from a friend that the best way to rid them is to superglue their exits.

Funniest thing in the world is watching my nasarius street fight.. they meet out in the middle of the substrate to duke it out daily.

I'm getting ready to order a clean up crew for my 75 gallon from reefcleaners soon my order will consist of: 80 dwarf cerith, 27 nassarius, 32 florida ceriths, 5 blue leg hermits, and 11 large nerite. The only thing I'm concerned about is if I add all these critters into my tank at once could some of them starve? I mean I have alot for them to eat but that's alot of critters.

IME, reefcleaners gives you a size of a crew that can sustain itself in a given scenario.

My crew was thought to be large too when I advertised it here originally a year ago. I have not had die-off (some specific unfood related examples withstanding).

    I would not be worried.
