    Thanks for the heads up, once I got home and looked into them more I now see that they're pretty tough to keep from other people's experiences. Unfortunately the lfs employee told us it would be great and easy to keep, and a quick look on liveaquaria before purchasing said:

    "The Long Tentacle Plate Coral is easy to maintain in the reef aquarium and makes an excellent candidate for the beginner reef aquarist."

    so I thought we were good to go... I guess at this point we'll just make the best of it :-/

    Yeah, its unfortunate since they look so cool. U can keep it and figure on it probably dieing, or try to trade it back in at the lfs and get something else. The short tentacle plates are commonly kept and I believe are fairly easy, but the long tentacles are tough to keep. Your tank is looking good though.

    You have to remember that lfs employee's are actually salesmen, and when it comes down to it, they will do what it takes to make a sale.
