    so i know mollies love algae but the question is will they eat hair algae? ...and if so how do i properly acclimate them to saltwater?

    you can acclimate them to saltwater very easily. anytime i have a concern with acclimate something i usually drip acclimate it. but you can acclimate them by adding some of your tank water in the bag to adjust it to the salinity.
    they're really hardy though.
    honestly i feel kind of mean to them. i use mollies as my tester fish to set up the biology in my tank.

    I had a small school of black mollies in a reef set up many years ago
    and they will consume hair algae IME (thats why I had them in there)

    acclimitisation , as stated above they are pretty tolerant and I recall having the fish in a plastic jug and every so often adding a cup of reef water and then once the level doubled
    pouring half away and repeating again until the water in the tank and the water in the jug where the same SG
