Most dottybacks are WELL known to take out any type of shrimp in the aquarium..

Wrasses are a toss up- there are many reef safe ones, and many that are not..... Unfortunately for you, the sunset wrasse is not invert safe, and I would not suggest putting a shrimp in. However sometimes you can get lucky and they wont bother attacking it- usually if you keep it extremely well fed, but even then- they can still stir up trouble!

There are numerous other wrasses that are reef safe- including the well known sixline wrasse, the fourline wrasse, the mystery wrasse, hawaiian flame wrasse (if you can afford it :p), and quite a few others.

I think that if the wrasse is young and the shrimp was introduced early then they should get along okay..my melanurus isn't "reef safe" but the guy at my lfs had had it since it was very young and it was always with a shrimp..i didn't get it until it was 4 1/2 inches or so and it doesn't even act like my coral banded is there
