metalarc light's will they work?

hi guys im new the site i have 125g tank that i just set up. My question is. Are metalarc lights ok to run on my tank they are 400w and that is just about all i know about them. I have heard they are just like mh lights but i just want to make sure. If i can run them what ealse should i run with them.

 

Metal-Arc brand /style Lamps are a new type energy efficient design . Sylvania I think designed them for commercial applications like lighting buildings and Factory work areas at night supposed to be way more efficient like 30% or more. But unless they have came up with a different K values then these bulbs will be to cool in the K value I think all I have ever seen where like 2,900 or a max of 4,000 K depending on the application of use. Double check the K value first..

WOW, I found some of these bulbs at a discount store. 175w m57 on box but not the bulb temp. I could not resist buying one. They are $2.99 each. What can I use them for, my fuge? If not I will use them in my work shed. They also hat mogul bases for $1.99 rated at 600W 4000kV. I also saw the 250w MH mogul base lamps, but no color temp,(not metalarc) these were $9.95 each and the reflectors are $1. How much would the ballast be?

Please give me some honest answers, should I buy the larger bulbs too?
