would a sump be the way to go? i know it would really add some stablility to the system. how large of a sump would ge good? the tanks on my desk so the sump probably could only be like 10 gallons

i have kept many possum wrasses before, for this tank tis either a possum wrasse or a clown. i know they can easily thriveing a tank like this. i was told by some of the most experienced members on this forum so. i know it will be a challenge to keep sps but i am what i would now call a semi experienced aquarist.

Which means emptying the tank and drilling it. hang on overflow would be easier and less stressful to the tank.

A 10 gallon would be just fine. You could put a skimmer, heater, and anything else in there with no issues. Your return pump will also probably be enough flow for what you want to do. Adding that extra water will make keeping your params stable easier, which is what sps need.

could you post a link to this nano overflow? would i have to have separate chambers on the sump? i am not typically good at doing things like that. could i just have the return go to the sump with some sand and maybe some chaeto and mangroves and live and other things like heater skimmer and such then just pump it back up?

I would put one baffle in there, buy a decent small skimmer and forget the fuge.

Plexi will cost more than glass and will not hold unless you buy 1/4" since the 1/8" will warp with uneven pressure. Buy a piece of glass from your local glass shop. it will probably only be about $8. Silicone does not adhere top plexi well either.

oh so you buy the glass already cut to fit? the only reason i wanted plexi was i can cut that easily.

Go to a glass shop with the dimensions you want and they will cut it for you.
